| Harsh New England winters caused farmers to rethink
entry into their barns-resulting in relocation of the huge doors to the
taller gable end. This also works well with metal roofing as the snow
accumulation will not impede access through the sliding barn doors. The
New England Gable Barn is majestic in its stature sporting a high roof
pitch with ample roof overhangs. When sited on hilly terrain, this barn
can offer a third story by becoming a bank barn.

Dorset Bill and Lisa made the decision to move the family and business from Wells to Dorset. After finding an historic home with land on Route 30, we helped Bill design a workshop that would accommodate his woodworking machinery on the lower level and showcase his awesome furniture upstairs. The 28' x 50' frame was sheathed with 1" pine boards, enveloped with foam laminate insulation panels, and sided with vertical shiplap. Insulated French doors welcome the public, and a rear attached shed addition houses the dust collector system. Truly an aesthetically pleasing and functional barn for William Laberge, Cabinetmaker.
