Vermont Barn Construction
After years of studying, designing, and constructing traditional barns, it is safe to say we have the perfect Vermont barn nailed down. The key to barns is proportions. We love high sidewalls, barn sashes, transom windows, and the perfect cupola. We are prolific barn builders, and our specialty is post & beam, timber frame, and conventionally framed barns.
We especially love car barns, barn-style homes, and cow / horse barns. A marriage of home and barn is deep in our rural culture and has been adapted from New England homesteads adding extended rooflines or simple gabled buildings to the original structure often connecting a barn with the house.
Barn-style Homes
We find barn-style home so unique and cozy. The structure can be easily adapted for living and walkout bank barns can offer a third level. We love a barn-style home for in laws who may need their own space or a couple who is looking for a fun interior design project. There is also the ability to build barns with modern or contemporary flare. There is such charm when it comes to barn-style, rustic homes.
Car Barns
We have found that our barns work great as garages and have coined the name “car barns”. What is better than having your garage look like a traditional Vermont Barn.
Cow / Horse Barns
Ample thought and planning goes into constructing animal shelters to assure the safety of the animals and the logistical ease of their movement patterns. We recently had the opportunity to build a high-end timber framed barn for housing livestock. Our clients later reviewed us, and they mentioned that their cows loved the barn!
